Honor Flight Tri -State is is in the planning stages of our 2010 flying season ! We are pleased to announce that we took over 300 Veterans on the Honor Flight Trip last year and our goal for this year is 400.
With the unprecedented fund raising help from Simply Money, Nathan Bachrach and Ed Finke on WKRC THE Talk station -- we have secured the funds for 2 additional flights this year. Simply Money will be sponsoring a "double ' flight on May 19th . The overwhelming response by their listeners has made this all possible. We are so grateful for their help .
Other corporate sponsors like the Catholic Healthcare Partners have also contributed significantly to our mission. Catholic Healthcare Partners will be sponsoring a single trip in July. Most of our donations come in small amounts from patriotic Americans who want to make the dreams of the World War ll Veterans come true. But Corporate sponsorships are still available. If you are interested in sponsoring a single vets ( $300 ) or a full flight, please contact our director @ 513-489-2022.
Statistics show that World War ll Veterans are dying at a rate of 1200 a day . For many of the surviving Veterans a trip to Washington to see their memorial is not financially or physically possible without the aid that Honor Flight Tri- State can provide. The trip is absolutely free to all qualified veterans and all guardians pay their own way on the flight. Honor Flight wants to fulfill the dreams of as many veterans as we can by providing free flights to the veterans and ease the load for their caregivers by providing willing and able volunteers that will escort the veterans on their trip.
A flight includes, guardians, t-shirt, 3 meals, tour buses, and airfare to and from Washington DC in one day! Applications are now being taken for the 2010 season.
